DCL smart electric actuators feature field-adjustable dead band, a key parameter that dictates the unit’s responsiveness to input control signals. A narrower dead band delivers higher sensitivity — yet greater sensitivity is not always advantageous.

In scenarios where input signals are susceptible to external interference, a wider dead band effectively prevents frequent false actuation, extending the actuator’s service life and enhancing operational stability. Conversely, for applications requiring precise control with clean, interference-free input signals, a narrower dead band is the ideal choice.

Gear backlash — especially the machining precision of worm gears — is another critical factor affecting valve positioning accuracy. DCL’s Special Quality Engineering (SQE) team ensures uncompromising gear quality by leveraging professional testing equipment to inspect all supplier components. We also implement specialized design features and strict assembly process controls to eliminate gear oscillation and minimize operational noise under varying load conditions.
